ZIZO stands for Zoom In, Zoom Out. It’s meant to be a gentle reminder that changing your perspective can be a good problem-solving technique. This approach is integral to my training philosophy. When confronted with overwhelming challenges, like signing up for a marathon, I encourage clients to zoom in – to focus on one actionable step that propels them forward, whether it's contacting a coach (hey oh!) or getting out for a short run. Conversely, during tough times, like a difficult run or workout, we zoom out – recognizing that setbacks are just small elements within a larger journey.
ZIZO serves as a reminder to maintain a balanced perspective in running, where zooming in and zooming out allow us to navigate the sport with clarity and resilience.
